10.00 am – went downstairs to have breakfast. Actually decided to cook lunch since both of us were really starving. Wani cooked a very nice one, telur masak merah madu. Gila la beria-ia both of us ate.
11.10 am – went out to the bank to exchange money. Here, only banks are permitted to offer the currency exchange biz. Most of the hostel that we went to doesn’t accept credit cards, ending up our cash money mostly spent on that. Then, went to the bus terminal heading to Pyoseon, then transit to Seongup. Now, this must be the most tricky town to visit in South Korea with public transport. Most of the buses don’t have any number but only indicate destinations in Hangul writings, which is not very helpful for people who doesn’t know Hangul like me. So, we have to ask the drivers if they go to our destination. But the bus drivers are very helpful. Next, the tourist attractions are also quite random in place, making you spend too much money on hopping on and off the bus. But luckily, there is this t-money which you can reload and use in public transport in Seoul and also Jeju. It also gives you massive discounts on the bus fare.
02.30 pm – We got lost in finding way to the Trick Art Museum, end up at the museum at 2.30 pm. One thing I learn here is people in Jeju are used to tourists and they can speak or at least understand English. So, if we got lost, we can easily ask for the right direction. Once in the museum, we spent our own time exploring very interesting arts till 5.30 pm. The exhibitions are exciting and fun. After that, we went back to the hostel on bus.
My only complain about Jeju is, even the natural attractions like waterfalls have their entrance fee. Thus, places that can be visited are quite limited due to our tight budget.
I am feeling really tired today. It has been full 8 days abroad doing so much things that I really long to do since I was little (who doesn’t like traveling?). 4 more days to go, and all I can hope is that my body (especially the legs) will be sporting enough to let me have all the fun before returning home.
